INFO: Using Locale specific date and time settings with MailMarshal

Expand / Collapse

This article applies to:

  • Trustwave MailMarshal (SEG)
  • Trustwave ECM/MailMarshal Exchange/ECM
  • Windows and SQL date or language localization

Question:

  • How do I use Windows locale specific date variables with MailMarshal?
  • Date format does not change as expected
  • Date format errors are returned or logged in the Array Manager text logs

Information:

To apply the Windows locale to date variables, you must ensure that the account used for MailMarshal services is configured with the appropriate locale. The locale of the server installation is the default for all accounts. Changes to the locale normally apply only for each individual account.

If you want to change the date locale for the MailMarshal services, see the information in Trustwave Knowledge Base article Q15031.

Notes:

  • The SQL Server language MUST be set to English. This setting affects date/time transformations.
    • If the server default is not English, you must create a login with the default language set to English and use this login as the MailMarshal Operational User.
  • For MailMarshal SPE, you must use the US English locale for ALL services including all MailMarshal SEG array and processing services that are managed by SPE.
