How do I create a MailMarshal Test Environment on a single machine?
Procedure:
How to send and receive mail in a test environment using MailMarshal and Outlook Express only.
- Create two Identities in Outlook Express. One will be used to send, the other to receive.
- Sending Identity: create an Identity with the following Mail Account properties:

In the MailMarshal Configurator or Management Interface, add localdomain.com as a local POP3 domain. Then create a test POP3 user with the following email address – test@localdomain.com
How do I send a test message?
In Outlook Express Switch Identities to Test Sender. Send a test email to test@localdomain.com.
To read email Switch Identities to Test Receiver. You may need to synchronise with the POP3 Mail Server (127.0.0.1).
What else can I do?
Create a new POP3 account to receive (and test) all your Administrator Notification messages.
SEG configuration
- Create a new local domain by selecting Local Domains in the left pane of the Configurator (MailMarshal (SEG) 10 System Configuration item).
- Add a local domain.
- Select Routes from the left pane in the Configurator (MailMarshal (SEG) 10 System Configuration item). Add a Routing Table or edit the properties of an existing one.
- Create or edit a Local Domains entry in the routing table.
- Select Deliver to POP3 mailboxes.
- If you created a new routing table, set it as default.
- Commit configuration.
