This article applies to:

  • MailMarshal SEG 8.1

Question:

  • What are the Release Notes for MailMarshal SEG 8.1?

Information:

MailMarshal SEG version 8.1.3 (8.1.3.11605) was released on September 18, 2018.

The Release Notes included with the product are accurate as of the date of publication.

This article provides any additional information or corrections generated after that date.

See also Current Known Issues.

Duplicate Message ID

  • Version 8.1.3 reverts to the default message ID behavior found in 8.1.1 and below.
  • With version 8.1.2, if you encounter delivery problems with Exchange due to duplicate message ID when releasing messages, this may be caused by a change in default behavior in this release.
  • You can control the duplicate message id behavior. See KB article Q21049

Video Technical Overview

All customers can view a presentation of new features in this version. See the Support Videos page (requires login).

Basic Unicode support for Subject logging

In SEG 8.0.4 and above, database records logged by the Engine provide the message Subject in Unicode format.

  • The SQM website and Digests will correctly display wide characters in the Subject (including Chinese, Japanese, and other non-latin characters).
  • The Console can also display wide characters, depending on the localization for non-Unicode programs on the workstation where it is installed. Changing the localization could have other unwanted effects. The Web Console may not display this information correctly.
  • This functionality was available in some earlier versions of MailMarshal. It was inadvertently removed from SEG 7.X.
