Question:

• How do I update the credentials or form inputs in an interactive traversal?

Procedure:

When an Interactive Traversal is recorded in App Scanner, a script is saved with form values directly written into the script. The ASE Web UI provides a way to update those form values in the traversal script when they change so that the traversal does not need to be re-recorded:

1. Go to the From Training Page in ASE by selecting an Application, hovering over "more actions," and selecting "View Form Training."
   
   
2. Find a form value that you wish to update. Make the necessary changes to the value and select the box on the left side of the screen.
   
   
3. With the value you updated selected, click the edit Interactive Traversals button found at either the top or bottom of the form training table.
   
   
4. A dialog box pops up informing you that the value you selected will be saved. Click OK to continue.
   
   
5. On the "Edit Interactive Traversal Form Training Values" page you can select which Interactive Traversal scripts you wish to update. Click Review to proceed.
   
   
6. On the "Review Traversal Changes" page you can review the changes to be made to the selected traversal scripts.
   • Traversal scripts record each user action line by line. The review page shows which lines of the script will be updated.  
   • Each selected traversal script shows a table and the lines to be changed. For each line you can review the name of the form field, the type, and the page the form field was found on. If any are incorrect, deselect the entry and the value will not be changed.
   • Click "Show" under the "Full XPath" column to review the exact specifics of the HTML form element being updated.  
7. When you have reviewed your changes and made sure only the changes you wish to be made are selected, click Update to continue.
   
   
8. The traversal scripts are updated, and the new values are reflected in those scripts.

Notes:

Make sure to review the changes thoroughly. Once saved, this update cannot be undone without either re-recording the script or going through this process again to fix the erroneous changes.  If a form value you wish to change is not among the listed form training values, you will need to add that value manually to the form training list.
