INFO: Additions to Release Notes for MailMarshal SEG 7.2

Expand / Collapse

This article applies to:

  • MailMarshal SEG 7.2

Question:

  • What are the Release Notes for MailMarshal SEG 7.2?

Information:

The current release of MailMarshal SEG is version 7.2 (7.2.3.6978), released on June 19, 2014.

The Release Notes included with the product are accurate as of the date of publication.

This article provides any additional information or corrections generated after that date.

  • Note: Version 7.2 does not support installation on Windows 2003. Please check ALL servers in your installation before starting upgrade.

File type detection

  • The release notes indicate that ODTTF (XPS Embedded Font) is now detected. Although this type is listed in the user interface, detection is not complete and the type should not be selected.

TextCensor scripts

  • When you upgrade, TextCensor Scripts are updated automatically to the new TextCensor2 format.
  • To validate the changes and list any scripts that cannot be upgraded automatically, use the TextCensor Upgrade Preview tool.
  • Download this tool to the Array Manager, and run it. The tool self-extracts to a temporary location and presents results in a command window.

Contrary to the published documentation, MailMarshal cannot currently identify Unicode or wide characters using TextCensor2. This functionality will be completed in a later release.

    Support for Windows 2012 R2

    Windows 2012 R2 Certified

SEG 7.2.2 is Certified for Windows Server 2012 and Windows Server 2012 R2. Certification "demonstrates that a mission critical or line-of business application meets Microsoft's highest technical bar for Windows fundamentals, best practices and platform compatibility."

SQL Server on Windows 2012 and Windows 8

Microsoft requires you to install the latest service packs for SQL Server when installing on these operating system versions.

    • For details, see Microsoft Knowledge Base article 2681562.

The installer for version 7.2.2 and above includes SQL Express 2008 R2 SP2.
