HOWTO: Provisioning customer-maintained blacklists in SPE

Expand / Collapse

This article applies to:

  • MailMarshal SPE

Question:

  • How can I allow Managed customers in SPE to maintain their own blacklists of senders?
  • Each customer should be able to maintain their own unique blacklist through the Customer Console

Procedure:

To allow a customer maintained blacklist in a package policy rule that is enabled by default, use "Preset User Groups". Preset groups in rules will apply a separate list for each customer.

  1. In the SPE Management Interface provier view, create a Preset User Group as shown.
  2. Create a customer package policy. Ensure the package that contains this policy is active for all the desired customers.
  3. Create a rule using the Preset User Group.
  4. In the SPE Management Interface Customer view, the rule is visible to the customer. The rule has no effect until addresses are added to the Preset Group.
  5. To add members to the group, the customer simply clicks the Preset Group link. The customer can add
    • Individual addresses (including wildcarded addresses if permitted)
    • A list of addresses imported from a file
    • Other user groups that they maintain in SPE
