FAQ: Does SWG support the Microsoft NTLMv2 extended security mentioned in Microsoft KB 957441?

Expand / Collapse

This article applies to:

  • SWG 10.x, 11.x

Question:

  • Does SWG support the Microsoft NTLMv2 extended security mentioned in Microsoft KB 957441?

Reply:

We do not have extended security, regardless of the MS fix. There's no implementation for extended security between SWG and the DC (SMB session wise...)

Notes:

In order for NTLMv2 to authenticate with 2008R2 they should have this fix with or without SWG!

From now on SWG expect all the 2008 DCs to have this fix until the next SP will include it by default.
