HOWTO: Retrieving the group email address for AD Universal Groups

Question:

  • How can I retrieve the group email address for a Universal Group?
  • Retrieving a Universal Group from AD gets the member addresses but not the group address.

Response:

Retrieving a Universal Group through the MailMarshal Active Diretory connector does not retrieve the group email address.

To retrieve the group address as well as the member addresses, you can use a MailMarshal LDAP connector.

  1. In the MailMarshal Configurator or MailMarshal (SEG) 10 Management Console, create a LDAP Connector.
  2. Select type LDAP Directory and then select Microsoft Active Directory from the menu.
  3. Complete the creation of the connector.
  4. Use this connector to retrieve the Universal Group(s) as required.

Notes:
