Expand / Collapse

This article applies to:

  • SWG 10.x

Question:

  • URL list entry - what is the limit on the URL length ?

Information:

The following error message could show up when adding a very long URL:

When adding a URL from the logs section, the error message would be different:

Every URL list entry is a name stored in the DB being the same as the URL itself
This name field in the DB is limited to 192 chars.

If needed there are ways to extend this field manually, however, these changes are not recommended.

Our recommendation for such URLs is to use a RegEx entry with a wildcard:  domain_name*file_name .
