HOWTO: System returns no results when searching for user

Question:

  • I'm having trouble locating the username when attempting to search for a username using the report wizard.  Searching on valid username the system returns no results. If I search with a wildcard "%", the system returns the valid user results.

Procedure:

Using the escape character returns the desired result. For example, searching for "TestDomain\\testuser" yields user TestDomain\testuser.
