INFO: Searching email history for a specific address

Expand / Collapse

This article applies to:

  • MailMarshal SPE

Question:

  • Why do email history searches return too many results?
  • How can I search email history for a specific email address?

Information:

When you search in Email history for messages addressed to mb@mydomain.com, the results include messages for smb@mydomain.com (or any other email address ending with mb@mydomain.com).

This result occurs because the search performs a wildcard match and not an exact match on the email address.

Exact matches are not currently supported.

To limit the results, you can include wildcards within the search string. For instance you could use:

  • m?@domain.com
  • s?b@domain.com

Notes:

LevelBlue is considering enhancements to this functionality for inclusion in a future product release.
