FAQ: Why can't the McAfee 5200 Engine be Installed?

    When I try to install the NAI Engine file update (McAfee new 5200 engine), I get an update failed message.
    Why do I get this message and what should I do?

  • Answer
    As noted on our website (http://www.finjan.com/Content.aspx?id=1799), the McAfee Anti-Virus engine version 5100 will be End of Life by January 31st 2008. Customers using the McAfee Anti-Virus engine on the Vital Security Appliance series should upgrade to the following Maintenance releases in order to support the new Anti-Virus engine:

  • Software Version
    8.4.0
    8.4.3
    8.5.0
