FAQ: How to Block Outgoing Content

Expand / Collapse

  • Question

How can I block content on the outgoing direction using Finjan security engines and not just URL lists?

  • Answer

Following is an example of how to configure Vital Security to block uploading of images based on the Finjan true content type engine.

    1. Create a new Rule for the purpose of blocking outgoing images.
Set the ‘User Response Action’ to “Block”.

    2. Set the Direction to “Outgoing”

    3. Set File Extension to block image files.

    4. Set True Content type to Jpeg image file.

    5. Apply the policy and commit it.

You can verify this by trying to upload a jpge image; this transaction will be blocked. Navigate to the Logs view, Details tab and click on the component message.
