FAQ: Why can't I see new log entries after System Time change?

Expand / Collapse

  • Question
I changed the system time from the Setup Console (Webmin) from a later time to an earlier time, but now I cannot find the newly generated logs in the log viewer in the Management Console.
    Why is this happening?

  • Answer
New logs are, in fact, being generated. However, because the previous log entries are still displayed with the old time, the new log entries are considered by the system as being older, and are therefore displayed on a previous page.
