FAQ: How can I synchronize Vital Security time to an atomic clock?

    How can I synchronize my Vital Security appliance to atomic clocks / time server clocks?

  • Answer
    For more accurate time checking you can synchronize your System Time settings with an external Time Server:
    1. In the Timeserver hostnames or addresses field, enter the required hostname or IP address.
    2. Select the Set hardware time too checkbox to also synchronize the hardware time.
    3. Select Yes in the Synchronize on schedule section, and select the required time schedule in the scheduling options below. Alternatively, select No for random synchronization. 
    4. Click Sync and Apply. The screen refreshes with the scheduling configuration.
