FAQ: How do I Install a Failed Update?

Expand / Collapse

  • Question
I retrieved either an Anti-Virus / URL category / OS update and it is displayed in my Available Updates section.
However, when I try to install it I get "update failed" message, or if it is an OS update, it seems that the update status page is stuck.

How can I install this failed update?

  • Answer
If the update status page is stuck, delete the IE cookies (see also article Update Status Page Stuck - http://kb.finjan.com/article.asp?article=1025&p=4).
Otherwise: navigate to Settings -> Updates -> Available Updates and delete the update that failed (marked with a red cross).
Select Retrieves Updates and try again to reinstall this update.
