HOWTO: How to configure Cisco switches for the R3000

Expand / Collapse

This article applies to:

  • R3000

Question:

  • How do you configure a Cisco switch to mirror traffic for the R3000?

Procedure:

The exact setup may vary slightly from one environment to another, but the basic setup requires that we copy all outbound HTTP traffic to the port that the R3000's listening port is connected to.  Detailed information on the switch configuration can be found here:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/switches/ps708/products_tech_note09186a008015c612.shtml

With this info, most network admins should be able to determine how to set their switch up.
