HOWTO: Excluding a single IP when deploying authenticat.exe

Expand / Collapse

This article applies to:

  • R3000

Question:

  • How do I exclude a single computer so that authenticate.exe does not run on that computer and it is not executed on that computer.

Procedure:

When deploying the 8e6 authenticator the entry should be "authenticat.exe RA[VIP] RV[(x.x.x.x-x.x.x.x;127.0.0.1)]" Where VIP is the virtual IP address located when you log into the filter and then go to System->Authentication->Authentication Settings->Virtual IP address to use for Authentication, and the x.x.x.x are the IPs of the computer(s) that you want to exclude from been authenticated.
