When configuring authentication for multiple filters running in a source/target setup, the main thing to keep in mind is that authentication processes only take place on the source box, and the profiles that are set there are transmitted to the targets. As such, if you are using the 8e6 Authenticator, all users must point their authentication traffic to the virtual IP of the source box. If web-based authentication is used, all users need to be able to access the source box to pull the authentication request form from it. If the AD or eDirectory Agent is used, then only the source box needs to be able to communicate with the AD/eDir servers.
