Question:

Difference between Global Group Profile and Minimum Filtering Level

Reply

What's the difference between Global Group Profile and Minimum Filtering Level?

In Group/Policy -> Global Group, there are two "baseline" profiles: Global Group Profile and the Minimum Filtering Level.

By default, all users are filtered under the Global Group Profile on a new install.  The Minimum Filtering Level does not apply at this point.

When you create an IPGROUPS or LDAP groups, the Minimum Filtering Level will affect these group's profile.

IP Group: Minimum Filtering Level + IP group's profile
       or...
LDAP Group: Minimum Filtering Level + LDAP group's profile

The Minimum Filtering Level applies IP or LDAP group users, only, not the Global Group Profile
