INFO: The AD Agent service starts for a few seconds, then stops

Question:

The AD Agent service starts for a few seconds, then stops

Reply

After completing installation of the AD Agent, you may run into an issue with its service always stopping a few seconds after you tell it to start.  The activity log may log some runtime errors as well.  If this occurs, it is most likely an issue with insufficient permissions on the AD account that the Agent has been set to use.

To verify, you can try using the Quick-Configuration Wizard to make the Agent use a domain admin account instead.  If the service stays running with this change, then the permissions on the original account were indeed insufficient.
