INFO: Is there a limit on how many Custom Categories can be created?

Is there a limit on how many Custom Categories can be created?

The GUI currently imposes a limit of 250 custom categories, and will prevent creation of any more custom categories beyond that point.  Although the actual buffer that the custom categories use may be able to physically fit more in, this limit was chosen to ensure that the buffer cannot overflow.
