Question:

While running NETUSE, it is asking for Username/Password. Why and how can I resolve this?

Reply

There are a number of possible reasons for this:

·        Virtual IP address is assigned to someone else in the network. As a test you should not be able to ping the virtual IP.

·        You are not using same virtual IP as what is configured in your R3000.

·        Your virtual IP address is not on the same subnet as the management interface of the R3000.

·        Domain is marked “inactive” in the R3000 LDAP Settings.

·        Alias list is old and needs to be reloaded followed by activating the domain.

·        The LDAP Account/Password that R3000 uses to communicate with the domain server has been changed/moved/modified.

·        Authentication is disabled in the System Tab.

·        Network Router/Switch has wrong MAC address registered for the virtual IP address.  It should be same as the management interface of the R3000.

·        Port 137/139 is blocked at the network level preventing “NETUSE” to be able to bind to R3000.

·        User is not logging into domain.
