HOWTO: Usernames do not display in Reports

Expand / Collapse

This article applies to:

  • Security Reporter

Question:

Usernames in Reports

Reply

If you use the LDAP group importing functionality( see screen shot below) of the SR, you will get an accurate view of users to groups.

Using example: If a user is a member of two groups like (Research and Development and Escalation Engineering), then the LDAP group import will simply treat the user as a member of both. If a report is ran on “Escalation Engineering”, the user is considered a member of that group and reports for the user traffic will show up. If a  report is ran for “Research and Development”, the user, is a member of that group as well (per the LDAP import), so reports for this group still  include the traffic, with no additional manual group definition.

Below is the location of where to import your goups if they are not showing up in the reporter(user groups section).
The filter must be configured to use LDAP, to see the usernames in the reporter, ask tech support to send you the instruction or video.

Please allow at least 2 hours for processing and usernames should start displaying in reports starting from the time of re-configuration of the Username Display Settings.

If you still don't see usernames in reports, please contact 8e6 technical support team.
