  • R3000

Question:

System clock/time is off by a few minutues or hours, log files show incorrect time zone, etc.

Reply

If you are viewing the time and notice the time is off or incorrect, please check the following conditions:

  • Make sure the Regional Settings on the R3000 are correctly configured. To view the current settings, go to the System Tab > Network > Regional Setting.
  • Under the System Tab > Network > NTP Servers, at least one valid NTP server needs to be listed here. You can use either an internal NTP server or a valid public one.
  • Make sure NTP port 123 is open for the R3000. This is the standard port used to synchronize system time with an NTP server. R3000 needs to be able to communication with a valid NTP server on this port. Please check if your firewall or router blocks communication on this port.

If these conditions have been checked and the problem still occurs, please contact 8e6 Technical Support at 888-786-7999 opt. 3.
