Question:

How may I verify why a site is being blocked when it is listed as PASSED?

Reply

A site in question is being blocked, however, when running a URL Lookup the site is listed, as “The URL/Keyword is not in the master library!”

Run a “Real Time Probe” report to verify if a page loading within the site is categorized in a blocked category.

Set up Real Time Probe

  1. From the R3000 GUI go to Report>Real Time Probe.
  2. You may leave the Default Settings in the Real Time Probe Configuration Options.
  3. Click on the link “Go to Real Time Probe Reports GUI” on the bottom on the GUI to create a Real Time Probe.
  4. Click the “Create” tab to enter and specify criteria for the report you wish to generate.
    1. Enter up to 40 characters for the Display Name. This label will be used for the probe in the View tab and in the email report to be sent to the designated recipient(s).
    2. Select the Search Option from the drop down menu: “IP Address” or “User Name”… this will be the IP address of the machine you are testing the site in question.
    3. Enter or specify criteria for the selected Search Option: • “IP Address”: Enter the IP address to be probed.
    4. If you wish to send the completed report to a specified email address, enter the Email Address to Mail the Completed Report.
    5. Specify the Start Date & Time by clicking the appropriate radio button. To run the probe now, click “Now”. To schedule a time for running the probe, click “Schedule at” and select the date and time from the pull-down menus.
    6. Enter the Total Run Time in Minutes.
    7. Click Apply.
  5. Click the View tab to view details about active probes: The Display Name shows the name assigned to the probe on the Create tab. The Status of the probe displays: Completed, In Progress, or Scheduled.
  6. By selecting a probe, buttons for the probe become activated, based on the state of the probe. The following options are available for each of the probe statuses:
    • Completed: View, Properties, Delete, Email
    • In Progress: View, Properties, Stop
    • Scheduled: Properties, Delete View option

If a probe is Completed or In Progress, clicking View opens the report the Real Time Information box: Example Report: 2007/04/23,13:58:30, 209.11.160.107, IPGROUP, PASSED, No, http://www.sandiegolighting.com/ 2007/04/23, 13:58:30, 209.11.160.107, IPGROUP, Free Hosts Yes, Wildcard, http://*.HOMESTEAD.COM/ http://sdla.homestead.com/
