PRB: Directory error when browsing for Windows groups in the WebMarshal Console

Expand / Collapse

This article applies to:

  • WebMarshal 6.X and 7.X

Question:

  • Why am I receiving a directory error when trying to browse for groups using an NT connector?

Information:

When trying to browse for a User Group when using an NT connector you receive the following error: "Failed to retrieve domain list: The list of servers for this workgroup is not currently available".

This issue can occur if NetBIOS over TCP is disabled on the WebMarshal server.

To resolve the issue follow the steps below:

  1. On the machine where the WebMarshal server is installed, access the Control Panel.
  2. Double click on Network Connections. Right click on the Local Area Connection and select Properties.
  3. Double click on Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and click the Advanced button.
  4. Click the WINS tab and select Enable NetBIOS over TCP/IP.
  5. Click OK to all the open windows.
