PRB: Novell users not able to authenticate when browsing through WebMarshal.

This article applies to:

  • WebMarshal 6.X and 7.X

Symptom:

  • NDS users are unable to browse through WebMarshal when using Microsoft Windows authentication (NTLM) and basic authentication on the same port.

Information:

When authenticating, NTLM authentication is checked before basic authentication. If both types are configured on the same port, the NDS (basic) credential is never presented.

Resolution:

  1. Ensure that Basic and NTLM authentication are configured on separate ports in WebMarshal.
    • To check or change this setting, see Global Settings > Ports and Authentication (in earlier versions, Server and Array Properties > Proxy Settings).
    • For detailed instructions, see Help for your specific version of WebMarshal
  2. Ensure that the browser of NDS users is configured to access WebMarshal on the Basic authentication port.
