FAQ: Can MailMarshal folders be stored on a drive using UNC paths?

Expand / Collapse

This article applies to:

  • Trustwave MailMarshal (SEG)
  • Trustwave ECM/MailMarshal Exchange

Question:

  • Can MailMarshal folders be stored on a drive using UNC paths?

Reply:

MailMarshal folders locations must be entered using a drive letter. The MailMarshal installation must be on a local physical drive and cannot be on a Microsoft Windows network drive on another computer.

MailMarshal unpacking and queueing folders should be on a local drive to avoid performance issues.

Note:

MailMarshal quarantine and archived email folders can be stored on a SAN if a drive letter has been mapped globally.

  • It is essential for the network drive to be available with fast access 100% of the time. If quarantine folders are not available, the MailMarshal services will stop.
