FAQ: Is it possible to generate a quarterly report showing the up and down server time for Alerting and Monitoring?

Question:

Is it possible to generate a quarterly report showing the up and down server time for Alerting and Monitoring?

Reply:

The Alerting and Monitoring feature does not provide a supported method to allow the analysis of a specific timeframe for when a device is monitored.

The following method has been suggested as a workaround to obtain this data. However this method is not supported by Marshal.  

  • Alerting and Monitoring creates a log, and in theory you could cut the log file down to the desired timeframe.  You could then run the report.  
  • This log file is called wtm_alrt.log and is located in the \wtm_alrt directory of the install.
