Expand / Collapse

This article applies to:

  • MailMarshal (SEG)
  • MailMarshal ECM/MailMarshal Exchange

Question:

How do I update a TextCensor script from a file?

Procedure:

Generally, TextCensor scripts would be updated using the MailMarshal Configurator or Management Console. However you can also export a script, make changes, and re-import the changed script.

To update from a file:
  1. Open the MailMarshal Configurator or Management Console.
  2. Expand the TextCensor Scripts container.
  3. Edit the TextCensor Script to modify.
  4. Back up the original script by selecting Export.
  5. Export another copy of the original script to make modifications to the raw file.
  6. Make the required modifications and save the file.
    • NOTE:  Keywords must be typed in uppercase in order to be recognized.  (For example:, AND, OR, NEAR, FOLLOWEDBY, INSTANCES)
    • Ensure the saved file is valid XML.
  7. Import the script.
    • NOTE: ***If a new TextCensor script is imported into an existing one, the existing script will be overwritten.***

See the exported data to understand the file format and options.

Note:

Some earlier versions of MailMarshal used CSV files for TextCensor export and import.
