HOWTO: How do I clear the FastTrends database without accessing the Firewall Suite interface?

Expand / Collapse

This article applies to:

  • Firewall Suite 4.X

Question:

How do I clear the FastTrends database without accessing the Firewall Suite interface?

Procedure:

Use a script or batch file on the machine running Firewall Suite that deletes the .dat directory corresponding to the proper profile. These directories within WTM_LOG/datfiles store the information for the FastTrends database. If Firewall Suite detects that these files are missing, it will recreate the database given the log file data from the next report run forward.

Note: The .dat directories will have the same naming convention as the .wlp file from which they are created. For example, a profile with the filename of 00000044.WLP will create directories named 00000044.dat.
