HOWTO: How do I change the default location for FastTrends Databases?

Expand / Collapse

This article applies to:

  • Firewall Suite 4.X

Question:

How do I change the default location for FastTrends Databases?

Procedure:

Advanced FastTrends allows you to store FastTrends databases in an alternate location.

Use the Advanced FastTrends tab in the Profile window to specify the location for the FastTrends database. You may want to store the data on another network machine to save space on your system.

To access the Advanced FastTrends feature, you must first Edit the profile, enable FastTrends, close the profile, and reopen it. Only then will you see the Advanced FastTrends tab.

  • Store FastTrends databases in the Default Location
This option is automatically selected when you activate the FastTrends™ option. The default location is defined locally on your system.

  • Store FastTrends databases in an Alternate Location
To specify a location different from the default, clear the "Store FastTrends databases in Default Location" check box, and enter the file path in the "Alternate Location" field. Click "Browse" to specify the exact location through the "Browse for Folder" dialog.

Note: If you are running Firewall Suite as a service and saving FastTrends databases to a network drive, you must specify the path as a UNC name rather than using a drive letter.
