HOWTO: How do I adjust or change the Active Directory lookup interval?

Expand / Collapse

This article applies to:

  • MailMarshal Exchange 5.x

Procedure:

To change the Active Directory lookup interval, you need to modify the registry:

Warning: Using the Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. LevelBlue cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the incorrect use of Registry Editor can be solved. Make sure that you backup your Registry prior to making any changes.

  1. Open the Registry Editor.
  2. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE | software | Marshal Software | MailMarshal for Exchange | Default | Engine.
  3. Under the Engine key, create a new value with the following properties:
    • Type: DWORD
    • Name: ADSIReloadTime
    • Data: set this to required length (in minutes) between the lookups.  (Note:  If the groups are not updated very often, you can set this value to one day.)
