Marshal Reporting Console supports reporting on data logged by the following
product versions:
- MailMarshal SMTP 6.2 and above
- WebMarshal 6.1 and above
The following are hardware and software prerequisites for the Marshal
Reporting Console installation.
- MailMarshal SMTP or WebMarshal databases (the data to be
reported on) can reside on any SQL Server that is supported
by the MailMarshal or WebMarshal version.
- If Reporting Console databases
are
installed on the same computer as the MailMarshal SMTP or WebMarshal databases
to be reported on, the
requirements for those databases must also be considered. For information about database sizing, see the User Guide
for each product.

Supported Browsers
(for client workstations)
|
- Internet Explorer 6 or above
Note: The MRC website will not work
correctly if Internet Explorer Enhanced Security
Configuration is enabled on the computer you are
browsing from (Windows Server operating
systems). IEESC blocks active content such as
the ASP.NET code used by MRC. This behavior is
by design. Adding the MRC site to “safe sites”
may not resolve all issues created by IEESC.

For help with installation, see the Installation Guide
available from the Marshal website.
- When installing prerequisites on Windows XP, be sure
that IIS is enabled before you install the .NET framework. If you do
not follow this sequence, the SQL Express Advanced or Marshal
Reporting Console installation will fail. For more information, see
Marshal Knowledge Base article
Q12054.
- Problems connecting to the Report Server during
installation could be caused by proxy settings. See Marshal
Knowledge base article

Marshal Reporting Console 2.1 can be used to upgrade MailMarshal
Reporting Console 2.0.1.
Upgrade Notes:
- Marshal Reporting Console 2.1 requires .NET Framework 3.5 SP1.
Before upgrading, ensure this prerequisite is installed on the
server.
- You will be required to re-enter the password of the
impersonation account.
- Upgrading updates the existing configuration database, and
changes Start menu items and Registry locations.
- All existing MailMarshal database configurations and scheduled
reports are retained. No change to the MailMarshal databases is
required.
- If you later edit the database information in MRC, or remove and
re-add the database to MRC, you will be asked to re-add the stored
procedures due to a minor naming change that does not affect
functionality.
- The product install location does not change on upgrade.
- The website URL path does not change on upgrade, because users
may have bookmarked the existing URL. If you want to change the URL
path, it is easiest to uninstall the MailMarshal Reporting Console
and then install the Marshal Reporting Console 2.1. Choose to use
the existing configuration database. All existing configuration
will be retained.
- Any reports that you scheduled or created before upgrading will
continue to use the $ symbol for currency. You can update the
currency symbol for existing reports by editing the reports and
setting the currency symbol manually. All new reports created after
upgrade will use the global currency symbol by default.
Marshal Reporting Console can also be installed side by side with the
earlier MailMarshal Reports and WebMarshal Reports applications.
The following additional items have been changed or updated in the specific
build versions of Marshal Reporting Console listed.
