Bitdefender for Marshal is a configuration and update tool that allows the Bitdefender anti-virus scanner to be used with selected Trustwave Content Security products.
Note: This package does not include the scanning engine or signatures. When installed, the tool retrieves the latest engine and signatures.

Bitdefender for Marshal works with the following Trustwave product releases:
Bitdefender for Marshal is available in 32 bit and 64 bit versions. Both versions can be installed on the same system. Use the 64-bit installation with SEG version 8.X, WebMarshal version 7.X, and other forthcoming content scanning releases that use a native 64-bit scanning engine.
Note: As of July 2019, product updates are generally only provided for the 64 bit version. Supported versions of SEG and WebMarshal are 64 bit software.
Bitdefender for Marshal is licensed and purchased through Trustwave.
Please read this entire section, including notes, before beginning.
To install Bitdefender for Marshal, run the installer package.
Note: During installation, Bitdefender for Marshal restarts SEG, ECM, and WebMarshal services in order to update files and settings. Schedule installation accordingly.
Immediately after installation, the Bitdefender for Marshal updater attempts to retrieve the latest virus scanning Engine and signature files. If you need to configure proxy settings, you should do so immediately and then start an update manually.
To configure settings and start an update, start "Bitdefender for Marshal Configuration" from the Start menu. (Installation creates shortcuts in the submenu for each installed product that supports Bitdefender for Marshal). For details of the fields in the configuration tool, see Help.

64 bit version only
| BITAV-113 | Scanner initialization has been updated. The temporary fix in BITAV-101 is no longer necessary and has been removed. |
| BITAV-118 | Files with Unicode characters in the filename were not correctly passed to the scanner. Fixed. |
| BITAV-120 | The master license key encoded in the product has been updated. |
| BITAV-127 | Old signature files were moved to the system Recycle Bin instead of being permanently deleted. Fixed. |
