Administrator Console Settings
If the Web Filter is set up in the mobile mode, the unit will not filter
segments on the network but will only filter end users on mobile
workstations physically located outside of the organization. The
end user's profile is based on the machine's MAC address instead
of the workstation's IP address.
NOTE: If using the mobile mode, the following features are not available:
Minimum Filtering Level, Time Profile, Override Account, Exception
URL, LDAP Authentication, and the Warn filter setting (end users
will be blocked instead of receiving a warning page). Additionally,
if using the selective Instant Messaging feature, URLs will be blocked
in the end user’s profile for the selected instant messaging
options, but pattern files will be blocked at the global level for
all instant messaging options.
Hardware Settings
A Web Filter physically set up in the mobile mode can work in conjunction
with another Web Filter set up in invisible, router, or firewall mode.
