Enabling debug logging for SPE Customer Console and SQM


This article applies to:

  • MailMarshal SPE 3.5 and above
  • SQM website functionality

Question:

  • How do I enable debug logging for the SQM site in SPE?
  • How do I enable debug logging for the main Customer Console site in SPE?

Procedure:

To enable debug logging for Customer Console and SQM:

  1. On the server where the Customer Console/SQM website is located, edit the Registry.
  2. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\WOW6432Node\Marshal\MailMarshalSPE\Customer Console
    • For 32 bit systems use the standard registry location (without WOW6432Node)
  3. For SQM, add a DWORD value SQMDebug and set the value to 1.
  4. For the main Customer Console, if necessary add a DWORD value Debug and set the value to 1.

 

Notes:

As always, take due care when editing the Registry. Trustwave recommends that you back up the Registry before making changes.

 

Log files are created in the SPE logging folder.

Log files are created for failed logins regardless of this setting.

To stop debug logging, set the value of SQMDebug and Debug to 0 or remove the value entries.
