How do I set up access to the Admin Console from a workstation?

Question:

  • How can I access the Admin Console from a workstation?

Procedure:

By default you can only access the Administration Web Console from the server where the site is installed.

To allow access from a workstation:

  1. Add the IP address/range of the workstation to the IP Access table (Administration Console > Security Configuration > IP Access).
  2. Ensure that the URL of the Admin Console site can be resolved from the workstation.
    • If you have not set up a DNS entry for the site, you can add an entry to the Hosts file on the workstation.
  3. Ensure that firewall settings allow connection from the workstation.
  4. Use a supported version of Internet Explorer, and be sure to allow JavaScript and cookies.
