  • What are the meanings of error messages from the Blended Threats Link Validator?

Information:

The following error messages can be returned by the Blended Threat Link Validator (scanmail.trustwave.com).

Actions you can take to try to resolve these errors are shown in italics.

To verify connectivity from the Array Manager, look in the Array Manager service text log for "BTM Provisioning" entries.

  • The URL failed to be validated
    • The validator service could not access the URL. This could be because the website requires login
      • Try again
      • If the same message is still returned, and you trust the source of this URL, you can click the link on the error page to access the original URL with no validation
  • Validation timeout
    • Validation was not completed within the given time (121 seconds)
      • Try again
  • The validator service did not recognize the customer authorization
    • The customer's license for the Blended Threats service has expired
      • You can click the link on the error page to access the original URL with no validation
      • Check that your product license key and Blended Threats license are valid and up to date
  • Invalid customer
    • The customer id (c  url parameter) is not included or invalid
    • A customer record matching the ID doesn’t exist
      • Check that your product license key and Blended Threats license are valid and up to date
      • Verify that Array Manager can connect to the Blended Threat provisioning service
  • Customer inactive
  • The customer authorization (provided in the link you clicked) is out of date
    • A customer record or vendor record matching the ID doesn’t exist
    • The customer or vendor record is marked inactive
      • You can click the link on the error page to access the original URL with no validation
      • Check that your product license key and Blended Threats license are valid and up to date
      • Verify that Array Manager can connect to the Blended Threat provisioning service
  • The validator service encountered a processing error and could not complete your request
    • Server error within the Blended Threat/Link Validator servers
  • Unknown URL
    • Server was reset during validation processing
      • Try again
  • Invalid URL
    • The URL (u url parameter) is empty or not included
      • Check the URL string within the email message. If the u parameter exists in the message, other content blocking software might be modifying the request - you may need to permit these requests
  • The validator service encountered a processing error and could not complete your request
  • Invalid data
    • The d url parameter is empty or not included
    • The data is malformed or cannot be parsed
      • Check the URL string within the email message. If the d parameter exists in the message, other content blocking software might be modifying the request - you may need to permit these requests
