Evaluation license cannot be applied

Symptoms:

• When an evaluation license is applied, I get the error "License key is invalid (Error: Update server stated license key is invalid)"

Causes:

• This license has been used already (e.g. in a test setup)
• Evaluation licenses can only be used on a single appliance. When applied, the update site records the licence and the appliance MAC address. Subsequent attempts to activate a license on a different appliance will fail.

Resolution:

Get a new evaluation license from your Trustwave Sales contact.

Notes:

PolicyServer High Availability is an exception here, as you only install the license on the active PolicyServer, and then connect another PolicyServer to it. The license is automatically moved from the Active to the Passive PolicyServer.
