Browser warning for installing Finjan Vital Security warning control object

  • Description
Malicious objects served from a given web server can be replaced with a harmless dummy object by the Finjan Vital Security scanner.

  • Symptoms
You will see a popup asking if you want to install the software (ActiveX or other cabinet) Published by "Finjan Software Ltd" with "Name Finjan Vital Security NG warning control".

  • Cause
The original object on the page contained malicous code and was replaced by the Finjan Vital Security Scanner with another harmless dummy example.

  • Solution
By replacing malicous code with a harmless copy there is no need to block the entire web page. Also the structure of the page will remain intact and as such the repair should have no impact on the functionality of the rest of the page.
If you would rather like to see a regular block message whenever malicious code is found, you could disable the automatic repair function. This is however, not recommended.
