Why does my 8e6 device show a red/dark orange light on its NIC?

The most recent generation of 8e6 devices that we ship all contain motherboards with gigabit NICs.  When looking at the back of the unit (where the NIC connection is made), there may be a red/dark orange light (instead of green) along with the normal amber light.  This is not a problem indicator - rather, it is simply an indication that the NIC is connected at the full gigabit speed.
