What is the syntax for the ipprofile.conf file?

You can manage your IP Groups using the Java GUI, or by uploading a text file that you create yourself. Generally, you should manage your IP Groups using only one method: the GUI, or a text file.
Currently, the disadvantage to using a text file to manage your IP Groups is that you won't be able to use Exception URLs and Time Profiles. Filtering profiles can be customized to allow/deny users access to library categories, redirect users to the Athentication Request Form or another URL instead of having the standard block page display, and enable any of the following filter options: X Strikes Blocking feature, Google/Yahoo! Safe Search Enforcement, Search Engin Keyword Filter Control, and/or URL Keyword Filter Control with/without the Extend URL Keyword Filter Control option.
Each filtering profile included in the file should be entered on a separate line. Filter options should be incuded at the end of the profile string.
Filter Option Codes
0x1 = Exception URL Query (this feature is always enabled for IP profiles)
0x2 = X Strikes Blocking
0x4 = Google/Yahoo! Safe Search Enforcement
0x100 = Search Engine Keyword
0x200 = URL Keyword
0x1000 = Extend URL Keyword Filter Control
NOTE: To enable multiple filter codes, add the codes together. For example, to enable all features for an IP profile, add 1 + 2 + 4 + 100 + 200 + 1000 = 1307, which means that 0x1307 should be added at the end of the proile string. To disable all filter codes for an IP profile, enter 0x1 at the end of the profile string.
Category Command Codes
I = Positioned after Category Codes designated as “blocked,” indicates that all other categories should be “open.”
J = Open the defined category/categories
J J = White list the defined category/categories
Q = Block all categories
R = Block the defined category/categories
NOTE: To white list one or more categories, "J" must be placed before the category codes. An entry of a second "J" character indicates that the categories are allowed to pass.
For example, the port and category filtering portion of the profile string might be set up as follows: A,J R IRADIO I or A,J J LEGAL AUTO Q Global IP
Profile Format

If you ever want to "erase" your ipprofile.conf file and go back to managing your IP Groups via the GUI, simply upload a "blank" ipprofile.conf.
