- Marshal EndPoint Security
Question:
- Does EndPoint Security support NetWare environments?
Reply:
EndPoint Security can be minimally deployed in a pure NetWare environment, but functionality and flexibility will be lost.
EndPoint Security requires a centralized NT account database or Active Directory in order to manage deployment of the client and to help manage policies.
In a pure Novell environment there is no Windows account database or Active Directory. Therefore deployment would be an issue unless a common account username/password combination with administrative rights had previously been set-up identically on all PCs.
If EndPoint Security is deployed in this environment, it will be limited to denying all access to all users except administrators.
If you require a greater granularity of control over your users and devices classes, then you will need an NT domain at the minimum.
