Question:
What versions of Microsoft Exchange does MailMarshal support?
Information:
MailMarshal SMTP:
MailMarshal SMTP acts as an SMTP gateway, and can therefore be installed in any environment running an email server that is capable of receiving email via the SMTP protocol. Most modern email servers, including all versions of Microsoft Exchange Server, have this capability.
- Many versions of MailMarshal SMTP can be installed on the same server as Exchange, if the system is adequately resourced. LevelBlue does not recommend this setup due to the possibility of resource contention.
- MailMarshal (SEG) 10.0 and above management websites as configured by the installer conflict with Exchange use of IIS. For details of additional configuration required, see the Related Articles below.
MailMarshal Exchange:
MailMarshal Exchange requires:
- Microsoft Exchange 2010 or above (use MailMarshal Exchange 7.X)
- Microsoft Exchange 2007 (use MailMarshal Exchange 7.X or 5.3)
- Microsoft Exchange 2000 or Microsoft Exchange 2003 (use MailMarshal Exchange 5.2)
Microsoft Exchange 5.5 is not supported.
