Performance Monitor warnings appear in the Event Viewer.

This article applies to:

  • Trustwave MailMarshal (SEG)
  • Microsoft Windows Server
  • Trustwave ECM/MailMarshal Exchange

Symptoms:

  • With some older product versions, performance Monitor warnings appear in the Event Viewer.
  • When running Performance Monitor with MailMarshal and/or WebMarshal, warnings are logged to the Event log.
  • Warning for WebMarshal:

    Event Type: Warning
    Event Source: Perflib
    Event Category: None
    Event ID: 1016
Description: The data buffer created for the "WMPrfData" service in the "C:\Marshal Software\WebMarshal\WMPrfMon.dll" library is not aligned on an 8-byte boundary. This may cause problems for applications that are trying to read the performance data buffer. Contact the manufacturer of this library or service to have this problem corrected or to get a newer version of this library.

Causes:

These messages are not errors, just warnings from the Windows profiling subsystem and will not cause any problems. The data can still be used correctly.

Current versions of the products include updated libraries.
