This article applies to:
- Trustwave MailMarshal (SEG)
Question:
How do I change the sender port that MailMarshal delivers mail from?
Background:
The default port for the MMSender service is 25, but this port may already be in use by another service and might not be available for the MMSender service.
Procedure:
You can change the port that the MailMarshal Sender (MMSender service) uses to deliver mail as follows:
- On the Array Manager, edit the Registry (10.X: use Advanced Settings in the Management Console)
- Navigate to the SEG Sender key:
- In version 8.X: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Trustwave\Secure Email Gateway\Default\Sender
- 10.X: value names have the prefix Sender. (Sender dot).
- For full details of the location for each product version, see article Q10832.
- DWORD name: SMTPPort
- Value: the port number you want the MMSender to send from (Decimal)
- Commit configuration, and then restart the MailMarshal Sender service on all processing servers.
Notes:
Warning: Using the Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Trustwave cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the incorrect use of Registry Editor can be resolved. Make sure that you back up your Registry prior to making any changes.
