Cannot establish a connection to the firewall using OPSEC LEA.

Symptoms:

  • Cannot establish a connection to the firewall using OPSEC LEA.
  • Check Point OPSEC LEA log file is not being created in Security Reporting Center. 2.0
  • Error: "None of the requested log files were found."

Reply:

When the Check Point OPSEC LEA connection is created, by default, the lea.conf file is created in the .\modules\lea service\config directory.  As long as you use the default location for storing your Check Point OPSEC LEA log files, no further action is required.

If you have chosen to store the Check Point OPSEC LEA log files in an alternate location, a copy of the lea.conf must be copied to the same directory as specified for your log files.  After doing this, please stop and restart the NetIQ LEA Service to initialize the connection and to start transferring log files.

Notes:

Security Reporting Center 2.0b and higher has an updated OPSEC LEA module, which creates and stores the lea.conf file for you.  Please do not make any modifications to this file if you are running version 2.0b or higher.
