HOWTO: Joining a Node to an Array

Expand / Collapse

This article applies to:

  • Trustwave MailMarshal (SEG)
  • Trustwave ECM/MailMarshal Exchange 7.X

Question:

  • How do I join a Node to an Array?
  • Email processing server is not visible in the Mail Servers view of the user interfaces.

Procedure:

  1. On the email processing server, open the Server Tool from the Start menu.
  2. Select the Array/Node Communication tab (or Node> Array tab) and click Change.
  3. Click or select Join Array and enter Username, Password and Domain details with permission to add nodes to the array
    • In SEG 8.X and below, this permission is granted in the MailMarshal Configurator, Manager properties/permissions.
    • In MailMarshal (SEG) 10.X, use an account that is Administrator of the Array Manager server. You will also need an ArrayJoin account (set in the Server Tool on the Array Manager).
  4. Click OK and restart services as prompted.
  5. Repeat this procedure on all processing servers in the array.
  6. Commit the configuration.

Notes:

  • If you recreate the MailMarshal database, you must rejoin all nodes to the array (even for a single server installation, you must rejoin the local node).
  • If you install a new node the installer includes steps to join the node to an existing array.
